Is your mind chatter keeping you awake … or would you rather wakeUp laughing?

Dear Folks,

Reality to mind: it doesn’t matter. Stop trying to decide which is better. The minute you do, you will be set free. There is no conflict, not really. It’s all one, it’s all the All. Mind, employed to judge—which is better?—distracts you from focusing on what feels good. What feels good to most of us is breathing, fully and freely. Is that true for you?

When I play the flute I can have one of two experiences. The first experience, and the one I mostly always had up until recently, goes like this. My mind is very active, saying things like: “oh, try to get the right note, mmm that finger doesn’t feel comfortable, am I playing this well enough?” and so forth.

The truth is that until recently, I had little or no energy left over to pay attention to my body’s awareness, to the simple act of taking in a lovely breath, ahhhhh. No wonder I’ve been short of breath…and my playing reflected that self-imposed (mind-imposed) limitation.  I was not engaging frequency. If you take a peak at one of my very early blogs on the subject of frequency, specifically how we can learn to identify frequency, in our own unique way, you’ll understand what I am saying here about not engaging frequency. I was so busy listening to my mind chatter that I was not sensitive enough to be able to engage frequency. Waking up involves, for one, this process of discernment.

Just as everything in our lives may show up as less than resonant, when we are mainly focused on our mind’s constant chatter (which really boils down to constant conflict: is it this or is it that?) … when I make my prime priority feeling my breath in my center happening, my playing shows that too. The music becomes an expression of life, rather than a struggle for life. The increased clarity of my flute tone—resonance, to be sure—lets me know I’m listening to my inner truth, rather than mental recordings of ego lies.

(Hold on, we're taking a bit of turn, now...) The struggle for life—our survival instinct—is precisely and absolutely the kernel of WHAT we are evolving, at this time, to shift ourselves into energy generation via creative fusion rather than constant conflict.  Our survival instinct needs an overhaul, and willy nilly is getting’ one too, isn’t it?

When terror became branded onto all our hides, after 9/11, we were sunk. Or, more accurately, it because swim or sink. And the last time I looked, you gotta be AWAKE to be swimmin’. When we wake up to fusion, it’s a spark and you can’t miss it. However, fusion plus unconsciousness equal certain death. Case in point, humanity’s current tragic trajectory.  (Except, it’s not tragic; it’s just what it is. It just may be the greatest opportunity we’ve ever had.)

Are we gonna wake up laughing, or what? (The “or what” being—is the joke on us?) My newest baby is called WakeUp Laughing Astrology, and that’s what it is. It’s the astrology of awakening, and doing so in a damn good humor, too. I mean, what’s the point of waking up if it’s gonna be more of the same (or gasp, even more miserable)? We either wakeUp laughing or my guess is, we don’t’ wake up at all. Because, so far, humanity has proven it’s point about constant conflict: it sucks.

My new astrology system will be fun to use in consults. I’ve gotten a terrific idea for the format and now I just need to make the time to put it together. Learning options is my priority at the moment, because when the market moves I wanna be there. WakeUp Laughing Astrology is my little contribution to looking at people’s charts and sharing with them what I see, in terms of how they can make the shift into 2012 and beyond with the most comfort, ease and joy possible. Because again, if it’s ain’t fun, we don’t wanna do it, do we?

I’ve been an astrologer since my twenties, when I had a reading that changed my life. I’d already had several that left me saying, “huh???” This woman saw me as no one had ever articulated before, and she put it in a way that I could really get it, too. Then, conveniently, when I first started to learn astrology I had some mild but very tiring flu thing that kept me in bed for weeks. All I did was sleep and study astrology.

A few years later I ran into a woman who became my one and only mentor. She was such a whiz and somehow when she explained stuff it really made sense to me and, to this day, I remember her many kernels of astrological wisdom. I find astrology to be a deep paradigm, almost infinitely revealing; I never, so far, feel that I have grasped the entirety of my chart, or anyone else’s, either.

In the ‘90s I had a wonderful few years of studying with a Chinese Feng Shui master who took me under his wing because he was interested in writing a book with me that blended our Eastern and Western astrological expertise. Our birthdays were the same year, only days apart, and we got along very well. Recently, I’ve created a few different systems for reading the chart, with WUL Astrology being the only one that interests me the most these days.

Actually, what I do, and I’ll bet you’ve done the same thing at times, is I’ll borrow the really good bits of some system I created at an earlier time (but didn’t end up using) and then plug it in to my newest, shiniest system I’m currently developing. Thus, creating WUL Astrology’s  twenty-two paradigm shifts was much easier because I vulched my Resonant Life Readings and added in my Energetic Imprint Astrology, as well as elements of Self-Tuning. That’s one of the things that make older people so rich; we have experienced so much that we can blend together the best and now we can just skip the less good stuff.

So, WakeUp Laughing Astrology is my latest lovechild, named for an album I recorded on the harp and flute in the early ‘80s.  OK, enough reminiscing and astro-babbling. And to complete this entry and bring it all back home, I’ll  say the following: it’s all about identifying the frequencies your system needs and desires, cultivating a tuning practice that lets you attune to the All, and then surrendering to the resonance which IS the All by connecting mind to its feeling nature. Have fun!

WakeUp Smiling,
Laurel
