Sound Lets Us Feel Our Wholeness

Dear Folks,
This morning started out with a bang. I had to give my cat a de-skunkifying bath. You can imagine how much we both enjoyed that. Luckily, I know he'll get over the upset and forgive me. Animals, lacking consciousness of their separateness from the Whole, just naturally, re-integrate back into the whole when disturbing things arise. Peter Levine's brilliant book "Waking the Tiger" discuss how animals self-heal after a trauma. We, on the other hand, have the ability to be aware of it All, making it a CHOICE to identify mind with our feeling nature (our animal nature) rather than with the ego, personal and/or collective.

Think about it: frequency, tuning and resonance are all qualities of sound. The sound and the light are our main interfaces between the physical and non-physical aspects of life. Though we have been taught to depend much more on expressions of light (a masculine energy, that of seeing and thinking), we actually have more receptors in our body to receive sound (a feminine energy, that of feeling and intuiting) than light.

Frequency, tuning and resonance are the interfaces of sound that exist between our bodies and everything else (i.e. the world and the cosmos). Frequency engages life energy, tuning allows us to flow the energy, and resonance is experienced when we surrender to the energy.

The music of our being's resonation as cosmic Love is the frequency-symphony that attunes us, moment by moment. This resonation can be experienced as being a "tube of light" or the feeling of space embracing us all around. This is our wholeness, and indeed, as we consciously feel space touching us, we are healed. Meaning, our integration is restored by the all-encompassing quality of space. I can literally feel this tube of light restoring me to whole, re-integrating that which has become out of sync (from any kind of trauma, big or small, or even from thinking about past fears or future concerns).

Feeling this tube of light surrounding you can be a very subtle thing. Most of us need to cultivate the feeling, especially when we are doing anything else besides sitting quietly, completely focused in a meditational way. What's fascinating is that when I play the flute, calling forth this awareness, it becomes absolutely easy to play. What I notice is that when I am in this space of light, everything is easy, naturally flowing and self-tuning. Inside the tube, I am perfect; so is everything I do. Life works! And, when I am not aware of being embraced in a tube of light, I get stressed very quickly. Everything is much harder. Trying becomes the order of the day. Working hard ("I must work to make a living") becomes necessary, and not very effective, either.

Engaging (identifying) frequency, cultivating (flowing) tuning, and allowing (surrendering to) resonance can be bridges to the All, and as such we become consciously embodied as whole and perfected. Sound is the body's way of knowing Love in its every cell, resonating.

Tubing It,
Laurel

Is your mind chatter keeping you awake … or would you rather wakeUp laughing?

Dear Folks,

Reality to mind: it doesn’t matter. Stop trying to decide which is better. The minute you do, you will be set free. There is no conflict, not really. It’s all one, it’s all the All. Mind, employed to judge—which is better?—distracts you from focusing on what feels good. What feels good to most of us is breathing, fully and freely. Is that true for you?

When I play the flute I can have one of two experiences. The first experience, and the one I mostly always had up until recently, goes like this. My mind is very active, saying things like: “oh, try to get the right note, mmm that finger doesn’t feel comfortable, am I playing this well enough?” and so forth.

The truth is that until recently, I had little or no energy left over to pay attention to my body’s awareness, to the simple act of taking in a lovely breath, ahhhhh. No wonder I’ve been short of breath…and my playing reflected that self-imposed (mind-imposed) limitation.  I was not engaging frequency. If you take a peak at one of my very early blogs on the subject of frequency, specifically how we can learn to identify frequency, in our own unique way, you’ll understand what I am saying here about not engaging frequency. I was so busy listening to my mind chatter that I was not sensitive enough to be able to engage frequency. Waking up involves, for one, this process of discernment.

Just as everything in our lives may show up as less than resonant, when we are mainly focused on our mind’s constant chatter (which really boils down to constant conflict: is it this or is it that?) … when I make my prime priority feeling my breath in my center happening, my playing shows that too. The music becomes an expression of life, rather than a struggle for life. The increased clarity of my flute tone—resonance, to be sure—lets me know I’m listening to my inner truth, rather than mental recordings of ego lies.

(Hold on, we're taking a bit of turn, now...) The struggle for life—our survival instinct—is precisely and absolutely the kernel of WHAT we are evolving, at this time, to shift ourselves into energy generation via creative fusion rather than constant conflict.  Our survival instinct needs an overhaul, and willy nilly is getting’ one too, isn’t it?

When terror became branded onto all our hides, after 9/11, we were sunk. Or, more accurately, it because swim or sink. And the last time I looked, you gotta be AWAKE to be swimmin’. When we wake up to fusion, it’s a spark and you can’t miss it. However, fusion plus unconsciousness equal certain death. Case in point, humanity’s current tragic trajectory.  (Except, it’s not tragic; it’s just what it is. It just may be the greatest opportunity we’ve ever had.)

Are we gonna wake up laughing, or what? (The “or what” being—is the joke on us?) My newest baby is called WakeUp Laughing Astrology, and that’s what it is. It’s the astrology of awakening, and doing so in a damn good humor, too. I mean, what’s the point of waking up if it’s gonna be more of the same (or gasp, even more miserable)? We either wakeUp laughing or my guess is, we don’t’ wake up at all. Because, so far, humanity has proven it’s point about constant conflict: it sucks.

My new astrology system will be fun to use in consults. I’ve gotten a terrific idea for the format and now I just need to make the time to put it together. Learning options is my priority at the moment, because when the market moves I wanna be there. WakeUp Laughing Astrology is my little contribution to looking at people’s charts and sharing with them what I see, in terms of how they can make the shift into 2012 and beyond with the most comfort, ease and joy possible. Because again, if it’s ain’t fun, we don’t wanna do it, do we?

I’ve been an astrologer since my twenties, when I had a reading that changed my life. I’d already had several that left me saying, “huh???” This woman saw me as no one had ever articulated before, and she put it in a way that I could really get it, too. Then, conveniently, when I first started to learn astrology I had some mild but very tiring flu thing that kept me in bed for weeks. All I did was sleep and study astrology.

A few years later I ran into a woman who became my one and only mentor. She was such a whiz and somehow when she explained stuff it really made sense to me and, to this day, I remember her many kernels of astrological wisdom. I find astrology to be a deep paradigm, almost infinitely revealing; I never, so far, feel that I have grasped the entirety of my chart, or anyone else’s, either.

In the ‘90s I had a wonderful few years of studying with a Chinese Feng Shui master who took me under his wing because he was interested in writing a book with me that blended our Eastern and Western astrological expertise. Our birthdays were the same year, only days apart, and we got along very well. Recently, I’ve created a few different systems for reading the chart, with WUL Astrology being the only one that interests me the most these days.

Actually, what I do, and I’ll bet you’ve done the same thing at times, is I’ll borrow the really good bits of some system I created at an earlier time (but didn’t end up using) and then plug it in to my newest, shiniest system I’m currently developing. Thus, creating WUL Astrology’s  twenty-two paradigm shifts was much easier because I vulched my Resonant Life Readings and added in my Energetic Imprint Astrology, as well as elements of Self-Tuning. That’s one of the things that make older people so rich; we have experienced so much that we can blend together the best and now we can just skip the less good stuff.

So, WakeUp Laughing Astrology is my latest lovechild, named for an album I recorded on the harp and flute in the early ‘80s.  OK, enough reminiscing and astro-babbling. And to complete this entry and bring it all back home, I’ll  say the following: it’s all about identifying the frequencies your system needs and desires, cultivating a tuning practice that lets you attune to the All, and then surrendering to the resonance which IS the All by connecting mind to its feeling nature. Have fun!

WakeUp Smiling,
Laurel

A Tuning Tool Described

Dear Folks,

To some, the Frequency-Tuning Resonance (FTR) may sound like some airy-fairy notion, in a curious but who cares sort of way... I can well understand that reaction. However, it's not. It's a tangible phenomenon, albeit, one that requires a certain degree of subtlety, precision and awakeness to partake of, in a personal and unique way. Meaning, ya gotta do it for yourself. In this case, no amount of description can ever supplant hands-on experience.

To that end, here's a "Tuning Tool" I invented yesterday. (Tuning Tools are the exercises, games and protocols I create to make use of my FTR when I do Self-Tuning practice.) For awhile now, I've been pulling my focus into the spine, feeling as close as I possibly can the energy and the musculature that surrounds my spine, especially in the places where it hurts.

Yesterday, I was guided to discover how I could slightly shift that focus to include both sides of the spine simultaneously in a crossover pattern. The results were pretty amazing, in terms of pain relief and deep release of those areas. The impetus for this experiment was how aware I've become that it is the crossing over of energy, from one "side" of the brain to the other that seems to be somehow limited by physical and emotional trauma. I can sense it. (It often seems like I can either think OR feel--but not do both in concert with each other.)

Thus, when I put my attention on nothing but the energy crossing over my spine in an area where it hurts (engaging the energy), and just relaxed into it (flowing the energy), something new and transformative occurred (surrendering to the energy). I felt a deep healing of those places where crossover connection has been truncated.

Indeed, almost immediately the energy took on a life of its own, becoming a bubbling, buzzing, alternating-currently feel in the area I was working. It felt great! This sensation is one of the identifying qualities of the Frequency-Tuning Resonance in action. Mmmmm, it feels great!

Crossing Over, Dark Becomes Light,

New Name (again) for Blog

Dear Folks,

The new name is a little tweak... and actually, rather a big one too. Perhaps I am feeling the inspiration of Easter: time for rebirth!

In that transformative mood, I'm experimenting with naming the blog specifically about the (your) Frequency-Tuning Resonance, rather than, in general about the subjects of frequency, tuning and resonance. Which isn't to say that there won't be plenty of musings about these topics, in the future.

Your Frequency-Tuning Resonance response is my term for the phenomenon that occurs, just naturally, when we engage the energy, flow the energy, and surrender to the energy of sound, embodied as love and light.

With utter precision, and accessed through sensing (seeing-hearing-feeling), your Frequency-Tuning Resonance is the unique symphony of frequencies that attune you to the resonance of who you are, moment by moment. Through cultivating your FTR, you gain the ability to respond to the resonance of who you are—in other words, your authentic self, embodied.

Laurel

Beyond Hope & Change: Your Frequency-Tuning Resonance

Dear Folks,

We hope about things we feel we have no control over, or over which we have given away our control.

We seek to change that which we deny exists, and therefore cannot surrender to the Cosmos to be healed/transformed.

What lies beyond the empty promises of hope and change that the ego in you inveigles (or about which the collective ego speechifies)?

When you are consciously embodying your Frequency-Tuning Resonance, there is no longer any need to hope that things will be OK. You can feel it. Mind connected to its feeling nature resonates your authentic truths. And when things do not feel right, you know that too. By being willing to accurately observe your current reality, you gain access to its truth; you restore your ability to choose.

When you consciously surrender to being healed by being a channel for your Frequency-Tuning Resonance, there is no longer any attachment to changing anything. Trying to change things is just more of the same, observed from a slightly different angle. (Now your mind, disconnected from its feeling nature and enslaved by the ego is lost in the illusion of judging; once you are in conflict because you've judged something as not being OK then your feeling nature is lost to resisting that perception of pain. Oh my, now you're way too busy struggling to enjoy creative fusion!) Everything is as it is, and it is all part of the All; love and light are infinite in your being. The natural result of channeling your Frequency-Tuning Resonance is transformation: this is a shift.

As the bumper sticker sezs: "How"s that hopee-changee thing workin' for you?",
Laurel

Test Your Resonance Factor Awareness

Dear Folks,
I'm sure this news--with the headline in today's Drudge Report, GE'S PROFITS JUMPS 77%!--will really set your mind at ease. Such good news!
"The company said it had seen "a small financial impact" from Japan's nuclear crisis in the latest quarter—quantified as a half-cent reduction in per-share earnings—with a "limited" effect from supply-chain disruptions.
... GE said in a slide presentation accompanying its earnings that the "small headwinds" faced by its nuclear and healthcare units from Japan could be "offset by infrastructure rebuild." "(WSJ.com, Bob Sechler)

So friends, how's the "Resonance Factor" of this statement strike you? First, they help to destroy the world, then their profits jump. (Yes, this is a test, to see if YOU can feel the presence or absence of resonance in a system, because if you can, then you can use that facility to tune yourself. If you cannot, then you have, in effect, given up your free will to choose what you truly desire. Think about it, and let me know what "Big Picture" ah-ha's you come up with...)

I'm off to for my daily options study after I see how the market opens. I'd like to get out of half my position in GDXJ and AUY today, if it looks like the right move.

Blurting Big Picture's Sticky Embrace,
Laurel

Humanity and Constant Conflict States

Dear Folks,

What do you think of a species that uses their astounding creative abilities to create continual conflict? OK, now look in the mirror with infinite compassion. How does that feel?

This morning I was reading from these two sites:

Whether it's nuclear power, our financial system, or the way we deal with our health ... we have created immense and continual conflict. What other basis is there for us to be so brilliant that we can create nuclear power plants, and so stupid that we would create something so far beyond our ability to use it without destroying ourselves???????????????

Oh yes, and then put the minority (about 5%) of us who are sociopaths in charge of the money and power...

Wake Up or Die,
Laurel

P.S. I apologize for sounding so mean, but after reading those above links perhaps you too will see how surviving and thriving in this time depends, utterly, on each of us creating a deep, molecular level of inner peace (something that is translated into physical and emotional well-being in the most essential ways).

Ode to Our Frequency-Tuning Resonance

Dear Folks,

Welcome to “The And” club. You can only join is you possess a Frequency-Tuning Resonance (FTR)… so that includes YOU.

We each posses a FTR, because this is our gift from God (the cosmos, consciousness, the Lifestream).

What the FTR is, is what I have formerly called “the unified wave.” The unified wave/our FTR is a state of oneness with the All that can be heard, felt and seen (in differing ways, unique to each individual and the present moment).

In the years of Self-Tuning that I’ve indulged in, cultivating my sensing of the FTR turns out to have been a grand reward… and there are as many methods of cultivating your FTR as there are people.

Basically, there are two ways people can GENERATE creative energy: either through continual conflict of contrasting elements, or through the fusion of contrasting elements. In other words, in this cosmos of ours, there will ALWAYS be contrasting elements; it’s our nature, it’s the nature of the world, and it’s the healing bestowed upon us by the cosmos. The question is: what do YOU do with those contrasting elements? (Examples of contrasting elements would be … how you can love a person and also be angry with them, or how in order to receive you must first give it away, or how your body requires relaxation and also to be focused, or how any two opposite things can both be true at the same time. Basically, it’s that every sine wave (frequency) has an up and a down cycle.)

Do you struggle with contrasting elements, and thus are in constant conflict because you’ve embodied the “yes” and the “no” and now you are resisting the “no” part of the equation (or just as often, the “yes” part)? In other words, do you experience pain from the contrasts in your life, in your body, in your mind? (Essentially, the genesis of all pain is that your system is in a prolonged state of either overarousal [“fight or flight”] or under-arousal [exhaustion, depression]).

Or do you flow in harmony with those very same contrasts, generating creative fusion—a lifeforce that merges everything together in the best possible way, so that you are blessed with the All as your intimate guide and ground of being?

OK, so the FTR is your own unique expression and experience of being merged with the All, of the resulting fusion of contrasting elements declaring peace rather than war with each other. It is a tangible, knowable, able-to-be-mastered “thing” which I highly recommend you learn how to generate for yourself, anytime, anywhere. (I’ll be more specific about this in another blog.)

Cultivating a personal relationship with your FTP allows you to be able to consciously modulate, to regulate, adjust and release energy as it comes to you, through and expresses as you, this is the gift. This is a form of life (or energy) mastery.

Being given an FTP, we’ve been kissed on the lips by God. No wonder Adam and Eve were made to flee the garden. They weren’t the main sex act. God was. The sheer juice of Lifestream energy coursing through and all around you is the stuff sex is made of—and everything else, too.

Fusion occurs naturally, that’s “The And” club I mentioned above. Fusion fuses things together rather than ripping them apart, duh. Fusion is ease, it’s instant, it’s life expressing through you as you. When I Self-Tune this becomes obvious: we are rivers of light, patterns alive with dimension beyond dimension. Fusion is the spark, and we are the fire. No big surprise the takedown may come in the form of a nuclear meltdown. The bandwidth (i.e. frequency) of nuclear power is nuclear fission. Fission/fusion, why fuss or obfuscate? If we don’t consciously experience this energy as fusion, apparently we’ll get to experience it anyway, as fission. Same energy, very different result, isn’t it? It’s all a matter of tuning, of what you attune the majority of your attention to…

The bottomless wellspring of our Lifestream energy is available, completely and in your perfect resonance, if you will but surrender to be its willing channel. That’s what your FTP really is: it’s the frequency that attunes you to your (unique) state of being your resonant Self. It has taken me more than sixty years to learn this, and I’m still learning and always will be, no doubt. The pain in my body was such that I finally had to address it.  After 9/11, I knew what was coming (and so did you). We all knew what was coming next. Time to get real about making the shift into 2012 and beyond, isn’t it!

Here’s my cheeriest thought about the grim realities surfacing these days … offsetting nicely the news from Japan’s ever-worsening, world-class nuclear meltdown, which appears to be slowly irradiating the Northern Hemisphere. What I thought was this: perhaps since the Hopis, Mayans, et al have been so spot on about 2012 earth changes a’comin’ up… maybe they are right about the good stuff, too! They saw a way through this karmic cleanup of humanity’s messes; they talked about a golden age. Their teachings (in various ways) impart the essential tools through which we can learn and evolve—which is to embody our own infinite wellspring of connection with the All, that is, to incarnate consciously now. This is precisely what feeling, hearing and seeing your FTP allows to occur, and to come forth with the comfort of fusion rather than pain of conflict.

Many of us are learning well, aren’t we? Emotional tools, physical tools and practical tools, as well as relationship tools… we’ve been sucking down the lessons, some of us for decades. Why the connection gets so screwed up is a subject for another blog. And let me just say this: it does. We all know that one well, too. My heart longs to see the human race embody its true heart. We are on the brink. The tipping point is tipping.

End of story: we “own” ourselves—our energy systems, our FTRs—and they are so perfectly tuned to who we truly are that all you have to do is relax into yours to receive its benefits. The FTR, the unified wave flowing to us, through us and expressing as us, is a wellspring of Lifestream energy … treetrunk-wide and ocean deep. Vibration can be so easily sensed, once you relax a little into yourself. Your fountain of life—just what Ponce de Leon was searching—is being awakened as your FTR now.

Feeling your vibration shows you precisely, exactly and with complete ease how to be a channel for that symphony of frequency, tuning and resonance that you are, that your system is, and that you exist within. We exist within the embrace and motion of the cosmos, breathing itself—and you—alive. We become embodied in a form, a structure that is uniquely our own. And, when we can consciously sense that form, then it embodies us and the rest can be so easy. Your FTP is the frequency-tuning resonance that IS the connection between your inner and outer form, between you and the world, and between the personal and cosmic realms. It’s the All, seen, heard and felt as your life energy flowing freely and fully.

Being fully alive is the easiest thing possible. It’s not being fully alive that’s that hard part. Literally, it’s what makes our lives so very difficult. The suffering of the human race seems to be nearing its end, one way or another. Do you agree or disagree? (Meaning, do you think these times are “history repeating itself” or are we heading for “the shift”?) Those great New Yorker cartoons with the whacko holding the sign up in some really funny places, “the end is near… spend all your money tomorrow” , are they coming true?  Well, either way, getting into your FTP groove can make your life easier, more fun and naturally productive, which sounds cool—doesn't it?

I don’t know what will happen (no one does), and you know what? It doesn’t matter. It’s always a moment-by-moment thing, anyway. When I see, hear and feel (or any combo thereof) my FTR in the conscious awareness of Love, the moment gets a whole lot better. To me, that’s what matters.

OK, OK… I’m off to study options. Wish me luck!

FTP-ing in the AM,
Laurel

Vacation Over, I'm Back

Dear Folks,

Well, after the third note commenting on me being gone I realized that, hey! people actually DO read the blog.

So.. just to let you know my vacation lasted all of 10 minutes or so. Even as I pursue learning options (I'm excited, precious metal, my specialty, has STRONG fundamentals with private hedgefunds and China buying billions and taking delivery), I will continue to blog about freq, tuning and resonance. What an exciting time this is (not to mention terrifying and challenging) as all the planets scrunch together in a few houses (unusual) opposed by Saturn (chickens coming home to roost), gulp.

Back Soon Yakking,
Laurel

Your very own Frequency-Tuning Resonance

Dear Folks,

OK, so much for vacation... and I'm way too busy learning options to go into detail--unless I get a response from someone who is actually interested in learning more about what I'm about to say...

Here is what I am discovering now: this blog is not just about the subjects of frequency, tuning and resonance. Nope. THERE IS SUCH A THING AS A FREQUENCY-TUNING RESONANCE (FTR).

Meaning, each of us possess a unique FTR, or you might say, has access to our own unique FTR. And to become conscious of your FTR gives you the ability of self-healing on all levels. The FTR is an entity, a thing; it's a specific frequency (or combination of frequencies) that has the capability of tuning you (attuning you) to resonance--just like I tune a piano string so that it is resonates most fully and freely in its given system (i.e. throughout all octaves of the instrument).

That which is resonant, by definition, is in harmony with the All. When you are in harmony with the All, you experience ease, comfort and love. Good deal, huh?

When you learn how to consciously access your FTR you can--anytime and anywhere--RESET yourself to neutral. Meaning, if you are feeling depressed, spacey or tired, you can become energized up to neutral and feel great again. Or, if you are feeling hyper, scattered or overstressed, you can relax and let go, resetting yourself down to neutral again (ahhh, peace!). (Yet another reason why asking to "raise your vibration" is not gonna get you where you wanna go...)

That's all she wrote,
Laurel

Vacation Time!

Dear Folks,

Yup, I'm taking a little "vacation" from writing about Frequency, Tuning and Resonance for awhile. The nice thing about writing a blog that no one reads (I assume) is that when I decide NOT to write the blog, no one cares.

Actually, today I devised a terrific system and format by which to work with folks who want to make the shift into 2012 and beyond in the easiest, most comfortable and productive way they possibly can. I'll probably make it the underpinning of my WakeUp Laughing Astrology consultations.

This discovery led directly to a very curious insight, which a friend helped me to bring through. I realized that I desire to put my energy somewhere quite different than into writing for no one and creating wonderful consultations for that same appreciative crowd. To that end, I am moving into a shift in my career goals for now. Actually, it's a shift back into what I was doing before. For the last five years I've been doing well with studying and trading the markets. And now it's time, God willing, to do even better.

I think that the next 8 months or so may possibly be the biggest money-making opportunity I've ever seen in my lifetime (I'm 60), and ever will see again. Possibly. Considering how much work I've put into learning to trade, it feels like it's time for me to put that work to work.

I've decided to learn how to trade options, and while that will take some intense study, I suspect that what I've already learned about trading (futures and stocks) will stand me in good stead for this next way of trading (options).

Reading a chart of the market is rather like reading an astrology chart. I love doing both! Once you understand the basic components and how they work, then you can begin to put it all together, really getting a feel for what that chart is telling you. My approach is to focus on a sector (commodities) and really get to know it--both the technical (i.e. info from reading the charts) and fundamentals (i.e. the info from learning about a particular stock).

At any rate, I'll probably write more, from time to time. But now I'm excited about learning something new and making some money with it.

Tuning into the resonance of the now frequency,
Laurel

Pain or Pleasure: Your Choice

Dear Folks,

I'm essentially a pragmatist... and while I love having my head in the clouds (thinking, being conceptual, connecting the dots), there is REALLY ONLY ONE REASON why I have gotten so deeply involved with using frequency, tuning and resonance for self-healing. Because it works.

All the information that I share in this blog has resulted from my hands-on practice of Self-Tuning (which is a combo of self-sensing plus using core muscles plus mind plus surrender to cosmic energy). Hours and hours of Self-Tuning, in order to engage, flow and be healed by Lifestream energy... and for the fist time in decades the pain is way, way less (and still vanishing even more).

I'm a pragmatist: I deeply desire to live my life free of the constant pain, emotional and physical, which I have experienced for the last 40 years. And indeed, more and more so, NOW I AM. That's why I bother to write this blog. What I am doing works for me... and while you may certainly need to do something different (we are all unique), you may become inspired, you may feel supported, you may gain vital info, that will allow you, too, to heal yourself, by considering what I have to share.

Today's main insight I wish to share is the following: based on my Self-Tuning experiences, I can assure you that the scientific research is exactly right: it is just as easy for us to feel pleasure as it is to feel pain, basically, in any given circumstance. That includes the one (or ones) that have become your chronic ways of being in pain.

This is a remarkable statement, if you really think about it. For instance, I’ll be doing something or other (typing, talking with someone, playing the flute, tuning a piano, upset with my partner, etc.) and I'll notice that the pain is starting up. (For me, I feel a swiftly-building sensation of extreme contraction in my shoulders, neck and jaw.) Then I'll remember that I can do the exact same thing--feel the exact same way--be the exact same person with the exact same issues and habits--and CHOOSE TO FEEL PLEASURE RATHER THAN PAIN! Note: learning the Open Focus exercises has been invaluable in being able to physically and mentally know how to do this.

It's a choice. And this choice occurs at the level of brain function. It's NOT positive thinking, which is a misunderstanding of how energy works. (Our crucial choice isn't deciding to think good or bad thoughts; being the "judger" of every dichotomy keeps us enthralled in constant conflict [which equals painful experience]. The choice is about whether you generate energy through a state of conflict or a state of fusion. Stop judging or trying to control yourself [be good, think good thoughts] because we, as humans, simply cannot do that. It's not our job--it's God's job. Our job is to choose how we use our energy [i.e. what we pay attention to and how we pay attention]. Are you willing [yes, it's a matter of will] to allow mind to connect to its feeling nature, or will you default to connecting mind to ego, yet again?)

Choice isn't positive thinking, which is the ego's way of diverting and distorting your attentional focus, so that you never move forward with embodying true states of fusion. Take a look at the world we’ve created. How much real progress has humanity made, being a slave to conflict states, and being (so far) unable to sustain states of fusion (in any given arena of life)? Yes--we can choose, in every situation to experience (bring on the experience of) pain or pleasure. I just happen to have an exquisitely sensitive body that gives me instant feedback about what my current choice is. What a gift!

Here's the real kicker: when you choose to feel pleasure rather than pain, there is nothing to resist anymore. And, when you are resisting NOTHING, what you feel is space (openness, flexibility, all possibility, the All, pure life energy flowing to you, through and expressing as you).

It is just as easy to choose pleasure as pain. The brain simply cannot tell the difference. The mind doesn't want to (until it is connected to its feeling nature). The ego demands that you choose pain. And you--the authentic, whole, integrated, self-healing you--can always return to the harmony of awareness, embodied as the choice to feel pleasure rather than keep suffering in pain. This very moment, you can do that for yourself. Good deal!

Letting it all feel good,
Laurel

Self-Healing: Loving Yourself For Real

Dear folks,

PLEASE NOTE: If this entry interests you, consider checking out the blog by reading the first post FIRST. The info is cumulative and will make more sense if you read them in the order they were written.

In this blog I am trying to be fairly well organized, covering my topic step by step... so that the interested reader can actually gain something of value. So far I've covered frequency, tuning and resonance, plus other topics as they came along. These initial blogs are just the beginning, meaning, what I've said is introductory and I'll go into more depth as the blog unfolds. You're always welcome to ask me questions, as well, if some point raised in a blog is a hot one for you.

In keeping with discussing the elements of the title (which has changed, you might notice, in the quest of presenting the blog so folks can easily ascertain what it's about), today I'll ruminate about self-healing.

Being in constant pain for so long, I was always looking for someone to heal me. In the course of my seeking I ended up getting a terrific education about mind, body and energy healing methods... and almost no pain relief whatsoever. Literally, I'd have a session and within seconds or minutes be back in pain. Sure learned a lot, though.

When 9/11 happened, for me it was preceded by the sudden death of my second husband, Tom. He fell off a cliff while hiking in Colorado on July 5. By the time 9/11 hit I was already quite undone by the close presence of death. And, like all good alcoholics (I was a stress-o-holic, but it's the same thing just with a different substance) I finally hit bottom and was forced to look at my life and ask the question, "is this all there is--I am gonna keep up this stupid behavior and die addicted?" Because the presence of death will do that to ya... make you reconsider wasting your life on being caught in an endless cycle of addiction.

I call my relationship with this stress-related pain an addiction because that became my understanding, when I asked God for help, a few days after 9/11 put me in this very reflective mood. I was shown, in no uncertain terms, how continuing the behavior that was keeping my stress-related pain going was, absolutely, an addiction, an addiction to being stressed out, to being in pain.

This shocked me; no one had ever presented this possibility to me, and it rang true. So, I set out to discover how I could overcome my addiction to stress. It's taken until now, and it's still going on. But I am almost 95% free of pain, and that's a huge piece of progress considering that for 35 years I was 0% free of pain, no matter what I did. It is this reality that made me aware of how I HAD TO TAKE FULL RESPONSIBILITY FOR HEALING MYSELF.

Healing myself is not the same thing as having to heal all by myself. Indeed, since I've become my own healer I have been blessed with many fine folks who have assisted me in this process. Couldn't have done it without them. Yet it's totally different than I when I was running from person to person hoping and wishing they would, finally, be able to heal me. Desperately wanting others to take away the pain simply never, ever worked.

Being a self-healer is taking full responsibility for healing yourself, and you don't have to do it alone (in fact, you can't). Besides opening up to other practitioners, books, info etc. I also had to learn how to open up to God (the cosmos, consciousness, Jesus, etc.) For, in the end, we cannot transform ourselves. We can set up the conditions by engaging energy, we can cultivate and learn by flowing the energy, and then we must surrender to the energy (i.e. allow ourselves to be healed by the energy, by God).

Self-healing is a remarkable journey. I had no idea it would be this much fun. And, for me, the bottom line is that, only through self-healing can I actually, and for real, let go of the pain and be healed. Now, when I work with a practitioner, it helps tremendously. Now, when I am stuck, I ask for help from the cosmos and always receive it.

From my self-healer to yours,
Laurel

Fusion is Resonance Felt in the Body

Dear Folks,

PLEASE NOTE: If this entry interests you, consider checking out the blog by reading the first post FIRST. The info is cumulative and will make more sense if you read them in the order they were written.

Aggression is just energy: it’s nothing more than pent-up tension being released through the impetus of pain rather than fusion. At the cellular level, we ARE fusion. And, when we do not live it, at the physical level, we suffer. We are in pain from conflict, inner conflict… outer conflict … and our conflict with the cosmos. We all know who wins when you argue with God, don’t we?

The fusion that we are, essentially, persists no matter what—we can’t stop it. We couldn’t stop it if we tried, and believe me, we try. I am inspired to write this because I’m watching my two cats, (probably the cutest cats on earth, [ask anyone]) rampage around my studio. They are playing; we are not. Aggression is the spent rage of yesterday, born of inner conflict substituted for Inner Truth.

Resonance is everything in vibration with the All: it is a fusion of contrasting elements rather than a clash. Fusion is an expression of truth in the moment. Fusion is a means of generating energy, as is conflict. Which source do you prefer? The harmonious use of will is to direct the mind to connect, to connect to its feeling nature rather than ego. Once connected, mind comes into understanding, it becomes able to surrender to the truth of fusion, once more. One can return, again and again, to a conscious moment.

In my body is where I can learn reality, here and now revealing itself to me, through me, as me. By moving as I long to move, my breath becomes real. Fusion IS reality and conflict is a lie. Ego’s whisperings in collective ears are the impetus for our constant struggle to survive.

Look at humanity if you desire to know the reality about yourself. Most of us are terrified all the time. We live in terror that we cannot survive, and thus, that we will not survive. (The issue of terrorism is created and jet-fueled by our inner pain on the subject. Asking any other system than your own to release you from terrorism in the world is a dead end. Heal yourself, first.) When the will is thusly enthralled—mesmerized by ego lies—there is no connection with truth. We are, proverbially, hung out to dry.

Will without consciousness just may equal sociopathic behavior, and that’s a subject for another blog. Will with consciousness is to be fully human. If we’ve ever needed folks to step up, now’s the time; I think, upon that we can all agree. The world’s a’poppin, and a rockin’ round da clock. Conscious will, your free will, can choose to connect mind to its feeling nature, and by doing do, resonance resounds—in the individual being, in the world, as cosmic truth prevails.

It behooves us, therefore, to know our centers. And from our centers, to be grounded … and to rise up, expanding and radiating through our centers… this is a stance that heals. Indeed, that heals you, and then you share it.

The body never lies. It cannot, anymore than your dog can. The body plus resonance equals healing and health. The body in conflict equals pain and destruction. The mind disconnected from body is, at best, just blathering on and at worst, terrifying. When I feel the resonance of fusion alight, fired up throughout my body … it POPS! me into another realm of awareness where everything feels really good. It is a state that couldn’t be more real if I were to stand inside a 20-foot bell while someone was clanging on it.

Boooingggg: resonance feels like that. It’s fusion is a state; it’s a crystalline tube of light. It’s rhythmic; there is movement. Enough for today. Time to use my toob-a-lite to practice the flute (one of my fav resonators).

Re-reading this before publishing it, I want to say the following: it's pretty scattered and out there. Some of the sentences are cool and the ideas are good, but it's really quite a mess, from the English-teacher point of view. However, I am gonna publish it anyway, because as mentioned earlier, I'm overcoming perfectionism. And, the ideas are good. Pensing on fusion, as the generator for your life, rather than conflict, could be thrilling. Understanding that fusion is resonance felt in the body, could be life-changing.

Laurel

RESONANCE: Be the “Self-Communing” Model

Dear Folks,

PLEASE NOTE: If this entry interests you, consider checking out the blog by reading the first post FIRST. The info is cumulative and will make more sense if you read them in the order they were written.

In this blog I’ll focus on resonance, just as I have focused on frequency and tuning in earlier entries. Technically speaking, resonance is a quality of reverberation. Specifically, it an increase in amplitude of oscillation of an electric or mechanical system exposed to a periodic force whose frequency is equal or very close to the natural undamped frequency of the system. It is the resonance of an instrument (musical instruments, your body) that initially determines the beauty of its sound. Following that, it is how that instrument is played that further determines the beauty of expression that emanates forth.

Resonance is a quality of wholeness: something cannot be somewhat resonant (like being somewhat pregnant, or very unique). It either is or it is not, as in activating a tuning fork and then damping it. The way that I am using the concept of resonance in my writings is as the third phase of self-healing: it’s the end result of identifying frequency and tuning-in to yourself. It’s the phase that requires surrender, because you can’t make yourself be resonant; you can only allow yourself to come into resonance with the whole (your whole system, the worldly system and the cosmos).

Resonance is the full and free expression of precisely who you are, in the moment. Being a quality of fusion rather than conflict, when you feel resonance in your body, it reverberates all parts of you equally and in harmony with the All.

In doing so--in self-creating an accurate reflection of who we are--we heal ourselves. Since all pain dissolves unless we willfully hold onto it, when our will is otherwise engaged with sensing resonance, then the only pathway before us is to let go and move on. Resonance shows the way because it is the way.

The blessing of resonance is to see the outlines of the issue, glowing skin against skin and energy infilling, expressed as loving kindness. The touch of resonance is the sensuality that sparks and kindles true being into flame. Swirling space surrounds us; our bones become touched by goodness.

To feel resonance simply feel what is already there. To recall the feel, feel it again, this time with all the dimensionality that you can possibly imagine. Resonance is a signpost erected by yourself that points to Love incarnate, giving lie to the divine as being separate from the cosmic. And, in doing so, being released from pain is the gift.

All my life I have played beautiful music on beautiful instruments. I grew up with a Steinway and a Strad. Pulling a gorgeous tone out of an instrument, being a channel for that gloriously free and alive sound... its resonance becomes my resonance and I am thrice blessed as I feel it All. Find the instruments you love to play, be they musical, in nature, in your mind, in your body, with others or alone: discover what resonance feels like to you, and then go there, over and over again, to be healed by the love of the All.

From joy to resonance and back again,
Laurel

Freq-Tune-Res: Not Medical Advice, Not a Cure

Dear Folks,

PLEASE NOTE: If this entry interests you, consider checking out the blog by reading the first post FIRST. The info is cumulative and will make more sense if you read them in the order they were written.

I recently posted info about this blog and its URL on a music-oriented website, thinking that here was a group of people who might be very interested in learning that frequency, tuning and resonance can have other aspects than the purely typical ones musicians are aware of.

NOPE. Got a big slap on the wrists by their vigilante moderator, who said that I was making claims about discovering a "treatment", hawking a "cure" and (this one really hurt), I lacked FDA approval.

So, for everyone else that has similar reservations about this blog, here goes. I AM NOT ADMINISTERING MEDICAL ADVICE. IF YOU HAVE SYMPTOMS THAT ARE OF CONCERN, FIRST SEE YOUR DOCTOR. Discussing how I, personally, have experienced tremendous pain relief by consciously embodying a personal relationship with frequency, tuning and resonance, I am careful to call this SELF-healing (note the title of this blog, please). That's because A) I AM healing myself, and B) I'm sharing info that may help you to heal YOURSELF. I have no interest in, ability for, or goal of healing you. NONE. I don't want to and I can't. If you want a cure, if you want someone to heal you... go somewhere other than this blog, because you won’t find medical advice or treatment to cure you, here.

The last time I looked, one didn't need FDA approval to identify frequency (see earlier blog entry), tune into your own body and bring it into harmony with the All (ditto), or experience oneself as whole, alive, and receiving Love and Light (ditto ditto).

People get so bent outta shape about alternative health care and how some of it is "a fake", which certainly sounds like the attitude that valiant moderator was taking with my post. But you know what? All things don't work for all people: you actually have to be awake and aware enough to modulate what you take into your own system. And, did you know that two of the very highest rates of death are caused by medical mistakes and prescription drugs? ... Not, alternative health care, not frequency-tuning-resonance for personal use.

So folks, what I am offering here is my personal experience only, which is long and hard won and may be of interest and assistance to you. Nothing more. You're on your own in this world—it's your body, your mind and your energy field. No one can force you to do anything, if you just wake up and get real with yourself.

A bit hot under the collar but so what,
Laurel

JUST WONDERING

Dear Folks,

PLEASE NOTE: If this entry interests you, consider checking out the blog by reading the first post FIRST. The info is cumulative and will make more sense if you read them in the order they were written.

We are given All that there is and ever can be, and fearing for our survival sings operas through the soul, drowning out frequency-tuning resonance. Your attention survives ego-thriving jibes: attune to the frequencies that hold your fear and resonate memories that love you.

Whether shipped or ripped like an egg-spattered carton, beseeching yourself to nothing new breeds tunes of longing. Burning a whole through center-radiating spikes, frequency stings home. Tuning the instrument to blisspitchshift-ing resonance rings true ... home, sweet nothings. Spaces between space, itself watching. Tune yourself , only you can play.

Having Fun,
Laurel

TUNING: ELICITING THE NECTAR OF LIFE AS IT HEALS ME

Dear Folks,

PLEASE NOTE: If this entry interests you, consider checking out the blog by reading the first post FIRST. The info is cumulative and will make more sense if you read them in the order they were written.

In my last blog I described some of the nitty gritty of what tuning is and how I developed my Self-Tuning practice. Now I am going to share with you my intimate experience (there are many, this is just one of the myriad forms that it takes) of a session.

Self-Tuning keeps evolving as I do, so every session is unique. And over time, my sessions have become very different than when I first started. For instance, after years of lying flat on my back on a mat (with my knees bent) now I find that sitting up or standing is my best position. This change reflects progress, especially since the purpose of this work is to be able to be a "self-tuning unit" right in the course of one’s daily life. My use of core muscles has become much more refined, so that I can do what I call inner stretching (to be described in another blog). Also my ability to imagine energy flows has become so much more accessible that I now find I do about 25% physical movement and the rest is through the focus-power of my consciousness. The increased naturalness of my breathing plus the fruits of working with Fehmi's Open Focus exercises contribute richly to how I am currently tuning myself.

So here goes…

Tuning, and thus Self-tuning is the act of adjusting, modulating and ultimately, transforming matter to come into vibrational synchrony... so that whatever you are tuning (including yourself) can be in a state of resonance. Resonance is a state of being in harmony with the whole.

I usually start out with movement, because I always start with where I am, in the moment. This is how I first ENGAGE the energy--by feeling what's currently going on in my body. After a few minutes, I move into a phase of FLOWING the energy, when I start to feel connections being made all over my body, and my breath opens up. I may do specific exercises (such as Craig Williamson's great movements, especially numbers 1 through 4), but I don't get stuck in someone else's idea of what I should be doing--or even, in my own ideas. The moment I feel a little bored or not sure if what I'm doing is right, I simply ask for help, I ask to be shown what I need to do next. And that ushers me into the third phase, which is SURRENDERING to the energy. I am never disappointed by what happens next...

Lately the received (surrendered) phase often includes some amazing gifts of cosmic love. I find that I am passing rays of light through my body. These rays (frequencies) self-select or are shown to me, and they are specific pitches (Hz or CPS). If you remember from my earlier blog when I discussed identifying frequency, you don't have to know the name of the note to identify what you need. And I don't, I can feel which one is the right one for the moment.

Using my imagination (seeing, hearing and feeling) and an exquisite sensitivity in my hands, I feel the forms, flows and trajectories of these rays as I call them forth, passing them through my body. Being both the giver and the receiver, I also can feel them from the inside out as they soothe, restore and transform the places they touch, transforming pain into blissful sensation.

Fusion is occurring: I am the one who is tuned and the one who is doing the tuning. Wholeness is consciously embodied; I am aware of my resonant being. I become who I truly am, and feeling this state or resilient awakeness allows me to surrender even more completely to being healed by light and love. I am feeling what I call a unified wave of Lifestream energy, flowing to me, through me and expressing as me. it feels amazing, and totally different from the earlier stages of Self-Tuning, where I am engaging and flowing diverse waves.

Feeling the unified wave is a remarkable experience, and once you’ve felt it you never forget it. Indeed, you will spend your life being inspired to return to its loving embrace; it feels that good. It is, to me, literally, a conscious experience of FEELING GOODNESS. As it moves through me (for the unified wave predominately occurs in the “surrendering” phase of Self-Tuning), as the unified waves comes over me it organizes me, at the core level, to return to harmony, to snap to grid—to once again, embody the resonance that I am.

The unified wave can be like a giant magnet, and as it moves through me everything out of place is mesmerized by its perfect, deeply glorious fusion power… and profound, permanent healing takes place. My inner acupuncturist teams up with my inner chiro, and together they give me one sparkling session. As the needles of lighted-up love pass through me, these radiant frequencies of sound waves are releasing pain and restoring open, clear space in my system. It’s remarkable how the pain really does dissolve--how years of stored up tension and fear melt away easily, often instantly.

Bones move, fascia crunches awake and my breath opens up even more, returning me to a feeling of natural ease. It feels wonderful. Related to sexual feelings but not limited to that, it’s an expanded version of sexuality that touches every part of me and just keeps going. It’s got the tingling, releasing, warming and energizing qualities of sexual orgasm, yet the unified wave, by definition, is more inclusive and diffuse, as it penetrates all of me. It's definitely self-pleasuring, an act of love, the physical and cosmic coming into union.

As the rays move through me, touching those held-tight places inside that are crying for release, I am able to make connections that, in the past, I have so longed to make. Now I can touch myself as I’ve always wanted to be touched—the energy rays are that tangible. The raw desire of my spine, my shoulders, my neck, so long in protracted contraction, open up and let go. The rays soothe, they energize and they transform ... no doubt about it.

Friends, lie down, sit up, or stand, and start to feel into yourself—the pain, the holding, the spaces of comfort… what’s there? What shape, form and texture is it? Let yourself breathe, and move as you are moved to move. Discover your universe within, uncover the gift life has given you for self-healing. Establish an intimate relationship with frequencies that feel good to you, with tuning that moves you into wholeness, and by surrendering to the resonance of who you are. Educate yourself about how your system works, how personal and cosmic energy work, how healing works ... and then you own the means to heal yourself now.

Turning Tuning into Bliss,
Laurel

TUNING: WHAT IT CAN DO FOR YOU

Dear Folks,

PLEASE NOTE: If this entry interests you, consider checking out the blog by reading the first post FIRST. The info is cumulative and will make more sense if you read them in the order they were written.

I started tuning at a very young age, as mentioned in my first blog.  A lifelong musician, tuning my violin or guitar, and later viola, cello, bass viol, harp, and finally pianos. Not to mention constantly tuning for good intonation as I sing or play the flute, or messing around with pitch-shifting as I do the tech work to engineer a recording in the studio. When I played Early Music in a consort (group) of 6 viols, each with 6 or 7 strings, I was the go-to gal who usually tuned up everyone’s instrument.

Tuning is very satisfying. You take something that is not quite right and make it spot-on perfect. As a seasoned piano tuner I can gently nudge that string to snap into tune, and then to stay there (at least for awhile). When an instrument is in tune, it becomes its true self—resonant, most beautiful sounding tone emanates from its strings, once again.

For the first thirty-five years of being in pain (searing stress-related pain up my spine and neck, at times radiating throughout my body) nothing I did gave me more than a few seconds of relief. I’d have a great bodywork or chiropractic session, and minutes (or sometimes, seconds) I would be back in the same or worse pain. It took a combination of major two-by-four’s whacking me on the head to, like an alcoholic, hit bottom… and finally get it that I had to be committed to my own healing or A) I would never head and B) No one else could ever help me.

My Self-Tuning practice began the day I lay on the floor and started to feel into my body and energy for the first time, just feeling, not trying to do anything about it. What made this possible was a newfound ability to connect to ground—to literally feel plugged-in from the soles of my feet on up—as a result of a few years of great Rolfing sessions. Feeling the energy coming into my center and grounding points, and then feeling it flow around in diverse waves, angles and vectors of all imaginable sorts (slow, fast, deep, surface, bright, dark, etc.) something happened, even after just a few times of doing this, that really caught my attention: I started to feel better. Much less pain, movement of the pain, something was happening, and I wanted more of it!

About two years into doing this (yes, I’m a slow learner) I began to understand that what I was doing was a form of tuning. The tuning paradigm was certainly a familiar one, and now here I was doing it on my own system. Wow. I observed that now I could feel two things: a space or place in my body that hurt (was kinked up, distorted) and simultaneously, a space or place in my body that was just fine (open, moving easily, comfortable). What tuners do—always—to get a note in tune is play an out-of-tune note against an in-tune note, and then adjust the former to the latter. Stands to reason, doesn’t it?

An interesting thing happens when you do this: the out-of tuneness of the note DISAPPEARS into the in-tuneness of the other note. It dissolves, it vanishes, it’s gone. I began to understand that the old-paradigm of resisting constant conflict equaled ENDLESS SEEKING TO BE FIXED (or fix myself), with the key word here being “endless.” Endless trying, forcing, and hoping, which always ended up in the old same place, back in pain.

Tuning unisons on the piano is so satisfying… hearing those beats get slower and slower until you come to (almost, close anyway) perfection where the beats disappear and you are left with only the pure resonance of the note sounding. Our systems are exactly like that (being as everything is vibrations—sound waves, if you will). Our frequency makeup, just like frequencies on any instrument, can be tuned to resonance—to our perfectly adjusted spaces and places within.

One of the great discoveries I made, lying on my back, feeling into my body, slowly learning how to tune myself was that this perfect part of me existed for real. I learned that an aspect of me, no matter how long I had been kinked up in pain, was still perfect and whole. And I learned how to intimately access this perfect part (the in-tune part) and use it to heal the parts that were endlessly struggling in pain. this is the essence of what self-healing is about.  You heal yourself with you Self—with that own life energy (which is a combination of one’s physical, mental and etheric energies).

The process of tuning myself was greatly facilitated as I learned how to use my imagination plus my core muscles to see, hear and feel the energy flows of my perfect whole self and use them to tune the energy flows that were out of tune with myself. More on those technical points in another blog. But just to say that the act of tuning is, indeed, based on reliable technical know-how combined with a developed intuitive sense. If you check out the blog about my main resources, you’ll see some of the masters that have taught me how to do this.

I’ve been blessed by sessions and books that showed me how to cultivate my core muscles (Craig Williamson’s book), how to focus my mind (Les Fehmi’s books), and how to circulate my consciousness through my energy system (Mantak Chia’s Microcosmic Orbit meditation). Combining their information with hundreds of hours of my own experience, the games and methods to tune myself, just naturally, evolved.

In my next blog I will talk about what it actually feels like to tune myself… so stay tuned!

Being both the tuned and the Tuner,
Laurel
